Taken from woodleywonderworks I am a newer writer for Secular Pro-Life. I have been writing blog posts about logical fallacies (and will continue to do so occasionally), but now I’d like to move to another phase of blog posts that I’m really excited to start. I hope to hear perspectives from both sides of the […]
Yesterday was an election day. That’s all that anyone’s going to be talking about today. And that makes things a little tricky for us, since A) SPL isn’t really involved in electoral politics (because we’re non-partisan, and also we couldn’t afford to organize a 501(c)(4) even if we wanted to), and B) we generally write […]
How many times have you heard the claim that abortion is “only” 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services? Wouldn’t you like to have a video that explains, in just four minutes, why that figure is misleading? Now you do, thanks to Students for Life of America: I like the combo meal analogy. I also like the […]
I’ve mentioned once or twice before that I’m an alumna of the University of Miami. On Saturday, I attended Miami’s homecoming game against UNC, and while the football was great (and we won), what really made it special was an appearance by Jim Kelly. Kelly was a star quarterback for the University of Miami in […]
Earlier this month we received an email from a supporter named Sarah, who wrote in with a suggestion for a blog topic: I don’t know if anyone’s done a piece on Gisella Perl, but I find her to be fascinating. She was a Jewish gynecologist forced to work as a doctor in Auschwitz, and one […]
For those of us in the United States, November 4th is election day. Of particular concern to pro-lifers, the November 4th election will determine control of the Senate, which approves Supreme Court nominees. Given the age of some of our current Justices, both pro- and anti-abortion, there’s no telling what could happen between now and […]
Crescendo is a pro-life short film that was produced a couple of years ago. I got to see it early and thought it was excellent, especially where production values are concerned. However, it was not made widely available initially, because the producers were screening it at fundraisers for pregnancy resource centers. (It reportedly raised over […]
From xkcd.com [Today’s guest post by Nate Sheets is the fifth of a series. The next post in the series will arrive sometime next week.] Slippery slope arguments allow a person to ignore the issue being presented, and to speculate about potential consequences that will arise if their opponents win or are correct. The supposed possibilities […]
More on the backstory of this photo here [Today’s guest post by Rebecca Stapleford is part of our paid blogging program.] Recently, certain disabled pro-choicers have started to protest the ableist language and ableist assumptions about a disabled person’s quality of life used by the pro-choice movement in order to promote late-term abortion. Lenzi Sheible, […]
In order to change people’s minds, we need to understand what people think in the first place. Many pro-lifers who insist there’s no significant difference between the terms “pro-choice” and “pro-abortion,” but clearly the other side disagrees. You’ve probably heard people who support legal abortion get angry or frustrated if others try to label them […]
It’s crucial that we demonstrate that anyone can–and everyone should–oppose abortion. Thanks to you, we are working to change minds, transform our culture, and protect our prenatal children. Every donation supports our ability to provide nonsectarian, nonpartisan arguments against abortion. Read more details here. Please donate today.
