Recap: pro-choicers reviewed SPL’s training in Texas
Hi All –
Last week I presented our popular Building Bridges training to Del Mar College students in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Normally Bridges is a training specifically for pro-lifers, but in this case a philosophy professor offered his students credit to attend, and some of those students are pro-choice. This gave me a new opportunity: I got feedback from pro-choice people about my training on how to talk to them.

I typically get positive feedback on how Bridges is helpful and practical, and Del Mar was no exception. But the second most frequent praise we got was about my respectful approach to pro-choicers. Here are student responses to “What were your favorite aspects of the presentation?”
I enjoyed the organization of the presentation and the humanization of pro-choice people.
I appreciated the relatability and emphasis on treating every one with dignity.
I like that it was not being thrown in my face to be pro-life. Being able to listen to a conversation/presentation about this. Abortion is a sore subject for a lot of people but this was nice to hear.
When the people we want to persuade say they felt respected and humanized, we’re doing something right.
Help us bring Bridges to more campuses and communities.
- Donate to SPL’s travel funds so we can show up where we’re most needed
- Hire us to train your organization or community
- Become a monthly donor to provide the steady support that keeps us moving all year long
Glad to have you in our corner.
