Recap: Life Launch conference in Minnesota
Hi All –
In April, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life hosted their first-ever Life Launch, a conference for college students. Secular Pro-Life played a core role in several ways:
- I keynoted the conference with Building Bridges, SPL’s popular training on how to have useful conversations with pro-choice people.
- I led a workshop on connecting with and empowering non-traditional pro-lifers.
- I tabled all day long, talking with college students and other young adults about how they engage as pro-lifers in a blue state.
SPL is very interested in equipping pro-lifers in blue states to make inroads where they have the most influence: in their own communities, with classmates, coworkers, and friends.

Every single time I’ve led Building Bridges, trainees have given us enthusiastic feedback. Minnesota was no exception:
I liked the simple advice to have the courage to say “I don’t agree.” It was a great reminder that we are not alone in our social circles, but also that it might give courage to others to speak up.
I never considered the importance of “identify yourself” before, especially in regards to the joy it can bring to others unexpectedly.
Your vibe was amazing and really made me want to get more involved in the movement.
If we want to build a pro-life country, we have to engage in blue states too. We need to understand the people who disagree with us, and encourage and equip pro-lifers best suited to be ambassadors to a broad and diverse American public.
SPL specializes in both goals. We bring extensive experience from pro-choice environments as non-traditional pro-lifers. We turn that experience into practical training, so any pro-lifer can help expand the movement.

Life Launch was a great opportunity to promote these strategies and train blue state pro-lifers. If you see the value in this kind of work, here are three ways you can help us push back in pro-choice states:
- Donate to SPL’s travel funds – Help us show up in places like Minnesota and reach new audiences.
- Hire us to train your organization or community – Building Bridges has gotten nothing but rave reviews. If you really want to go all in, consider the more in-depth Bridges Intensive.
- Become a monthly donor – provide the steady support that lets us plan ahead.
Thanks for being in our corner,
Monica
If you appreciate our work and would like to help, one of the most effective ways to do so is to become a monthly donor. You can also give a one-time donation here or volunteer with us here.
