Created Equal, a pro-life organization based in Columbus, Ohio, broke the welcome news last week that an abortion vendor in their backyard is closing.

Founder’s Women’s Health Center opened shortly after
Roe v. Wade, making it the oldest abortion center in Ohio. It has an extensive record of complications, with 22 reported incomplete (“failed”) abortions in
2018 and
2019 alone. Another disturbing element: Founder’s employed abortionist
Thomas Michaelis, a known sexual predator, until his medical license was revoked when he was caught possessing child pornography in 2014. (He is serving
a 15-year prison term.)
Created Equal reports that the closure appears unrelated to the center’s medical troubles and sordid past. The owners are retiring, and the building is under contract with a buyer whose plans for the facility do not include abortion.
