Send SPL to the March for Life

January 15, 2025 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

In a week I’m heading to Washington DC for the March for Life (MFL) and related conferences and events. Coalition building is a fundamental part of SPL’s mission. To that end, in 2024 we completed many public-facing collaborative projects and even more behind-closed-door brainstorming and coordination work (details).  MFL week in DC is a uniquely opportune […]

January 10, 2025 in Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

[This article is a transcript of “Talking with children about abortion” courtesy of volunteer Ben Tomlin. If you’re interested in volunteering to transcribe more of our content, please complete our volunteer survey.] My 11 year old daughter asked me what an abortion was. Dr. Vicki Chan, “Doctor Explaining Abortion to Her 11 Year Old Kid“ This […]

January 3, 2025 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

As the year came to a close I wrote quite a lot detailing the awesome work SPL did in 2024, and asking you to help us make the most of a generous matching grant. And your responses have been great. Thank you for a bunch of reasons: Thanks for your donations. Our year-end campaign resulted […]

Necessity is the mother of new friendships

December 30, 2024 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Hi All, SPL’s mission is three part: I’ve told you about our 2024 wins regarding part 1 (creating debunking content) and part 2 (connecting with non-traditional pro-lifers). Our progress with part 3 (coalition building) has also been exceptional. Coalition-building is crucial to the pro-life movement’s success. We’re often outfunded and outresourced by abortion advocates. We […]

December 27, 2024 in Top SPL Graphics, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

In years past we would feature the most popular graphics we posted to our Facebook account. Last year Instagram posts started to compete with Facebook images for most viewed graphics. This year, all top 10 most viewed graphics were on Instagram. 10. These just aren’t gates you can keep 9. Molly used to be an […]

4 ways we welcome non-traditional pro-lifers.

December 24, 2024 in Administrative, Pro-Life Demographics, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

SPL prioritizes outreach to non-traditional pro-lifers. Part of SPL’s mission is to make space for non-traditional pro-lifers. In our Building Bridges presentation, I explain the difference between “traditional” and “non-traditional”: Countless non-traditional pro-lifers are opposed to abortion but think they’re alone. All their friends are pro-choice, and the traditional pro-life movement can seem disinterested or even hostile to […]

Guy just offered us a $15k matching grant.

December 22, 2024 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Hi All, I recently wrote you celebrating SPL’s successful debunking content and asking for your help to bridge our year-end budget gap of $23,000. Since then you’ve been sending a steady stream of donations, which is so encouraging. Thanks to you, we’re able to make secular arguments against abortion and connect all types of people to anti-abortion […]

Amplify your voice: register for the Storytelling Symposium

December 18, 2024 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

I’m delighted to announce that Secular Pro-Life is partnering with Abortion Survivors Network and the Leadership Institute to create the Storytelling Symposium: a 6-part webinar series (plus a January 22 in-person workshop) to teach pro-lifers how to equip, empower, and support our storytellers. You can register here. Why do we need the Storytelling Symposium? Abortion […]

Harder, better, faster, stronger

December 14, 2024 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

(I’m not talking about Daft Punk. I’m talking about SPL.) SPL has a multi-part mission including advancing secular arguments against abortion, welcoming non-traditional pro-lifers, and coalition building. 2024 has been fabulous for us in all of these regards. But for now I wanted to highlight an additional 2024 victory: because I have a small but […]
