Election hiatus

November 2, 2012/4 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

For the next few days, your news consumption is likely to focus on the little matter of who’s going to run the United States for the next four years.  We are therefore suspending the blog through Wednesday.  If you’re eligible, fulfill your civic duty and vote!

Non-American readers, please accept our sincerest apologies for the interruption.

Don't kid yourselves. The rest of the world follows the American elections, too, sometimes more studiously than we do.

Why are republicans so obsessed with the decriminalization of rape? Let me tell you something, it will NOT win you political points if you try to justify a rapist's crime. Every single republican who's been dumb enough to open his mouth and protect rapists will get out on their ass by the end the election cycle.

"Why are republicans so obsessed with the decriminalization of rape?"

Did you not hear the two sentences starting at 5:09 into the video? They were the following: "We believe that rape is a violent act that no woman should ever have to go through. And we believe that those who commit rape or incest should be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

As the national conversation on abortion intensifies, it’s more important than ever that we demonstrate that anyone can–and everyone should–oppose abortion. Thanks to you, we are working to change minds, transform our culture, and protect our prenatal children. Every donation supports our ability to provide nonsectarian, nonpartisan arguments against abortion. Please donate today.
