Our 4 best analyses of 2025
Hi all,
Secular Pro-Life has a three-part mission. The first part of our mission is to advance secular arguments against abortion. We hit this goal hard in 2025.
Our framing is resonating
We’re interested in useful conversations with pro-choicers, so we design our content to decrease tribalism. We prioritize common ground, familiar language, and ideologically neutral sources.
And we see results.

Our analysis is sharpening
Here are four of the more robust analyses SPL published this year:
- How pro-lifers and pro-choicers define abortion – Practically its own thesis, this in-depth survey presented 32 real world scenarios to respondents and asked whether they considered each scenario an “abortion.”
- Are OBGYNs fleeing Idaho because of abortion laws? – We use an example of inaccurate pro-abortion narrative to teach our followers the importance of appropriate control groups.
- Adriana Smith and laws about pregnant patients on life support – SPL’s research team was the first to identify the Georgia law that specifically applies to incapacitated pregnant patients on life support. The media missed it but we’re happy to peer review them.
- Maternal mortality rates in pro-life vs pro-choice states – This deep dive into reductive pro-abortion assumptions gives us a chance to explain important differences between correlation and causation.
I have two STEM degrees and love an analytical approach, but I could not produce content at SPL’s scale or caliber on my own. Our work reflects collective expertise. We’ve intentionally developed professional relationships with experts in philosophy, medicine, law, statistics, and academic research. These volunteers advise us and check our work.
So remember when you see our faces in content like this…

…we’re not just giving our personal opinions. We’re platforming experts who otherwise go unheard in the abortion debate. I’m grateful and proud to have them with us.
Our visibility is increasing
It’s not just quality, it’s quantity! We are Very Online, where the greatest number and widest variety of people can hear us. In 2025 we created thousands of articles, images, videos, and tweets. Our content was viewed a record 22 million times.
SPL brings nonreligious, nonpartisan pro-life arguments to audiences who have never heard them before. It’s your donations that allow us to hire the staff and train the volunteers who make this possible.
Put SPL’s arguments in front of more people in 2026.
Our year-end campaign goal is $100,000—a big jump from last year’s record-breaking $30,000. I’d like you to help us get there. Consider the amount that matches (1) your enthusiasm and (2) your ability, and donate today:
Glad to have you in our corner,
Monica
If a traditional donation is not the right fit right now, we also accept support through Donor Advised Funds, stock donations, planned giving, and other methods. Learn more and find the strategy that works best for you.
