Pro-life people hold signs outside the Supreme Court. One sign says "Love them Both" and another says "Atheist Against Abortion."

We Asked, You Answered: Pro-Life Priorities

January 31, 2024/in Uncategorized, We Asked You Answered /by Kelsey Hazzard

We asked our followers on social media: “If you were suddenly in charge of the pro-life movement, what would you do?” Here are a few of the top responses.

Smokey M.: “Invest in advertising. Some people may not speak up because they think they are alone. Some people may not know there is another option. Some people don’t know they are actually killing a human.”

Kate: “I would give a platform for pro-life doctors to explain obstetric care. Perhaps have a campaign specifically for hospital administration on appropriate, legal care.”

Ruthie: “I would refocus us toward pregnancy prevention. Birth control access/affordability and comprehensive sex education. The best way to prevent an abortion is to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.”

Jen: “I would love it if schools had to explain exactly what abortion is, and how it works to students along side their sex talks at an appropriate age. One of the biggest things I have learned from your account is that so many people don’t understand what actually happens!”

Nichole L.: “Hire excellent communication strategists to influence people at the grassroots level as well as educate leaders as to how to better communicate the pro-life message. Focus on establishing human rights for the unborn, through court cases and legislation where possible.”

C. W.: “Fundraise for more pregnancy resource centers and try to open them everywhere. According to the stats, the closer a pregnant woman lives to a resource center, the more likely it is that she’ll go there. And where resource centers open, abortion numbers go down.”

Julia E.: “Work with Equal Rights Institute on educating pro-life elected officials about how to talk about abortion effectively. Focus resources on changing culture so to see families and new people as good things. And honestly, prominent and graphic photos/descriptions of what abortion really is.”

Forest: “Wrestle it back from religious zealots and make the ‘tent’ of pro-life activism truly large and open to ALL PEOPLE, from all backgrounds. Like you are doing.”

Tussanee B.: “I would love a tangible fund or guarantee of provision that provides for the needs of any pregnant woman while she’s pregnant and placement for a child she’s unable or unwilling to parent.”

Therese M.: “I would focus on root causes, empowering women, and addressing all forms of violence.”

Mayra R.: “Really try and grow develop the Spanish-speaking vote.”

Christine D.: “Encourage all pro-lifers to use secular talking points to BEST reach those considering abortion! If you can’t make a secular argument, why would a secular person listen to you?”
