Announcing the Pro-Life Novel “No Right to Be Here”

December 20, 2021/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Secular Pro-Life president Kelsey Hazzard here. For a few years, on and off, I’ve been writing a young adult novel. The title is No Right to Be Here, and it has strong pro-life and anti-ableist themes. If you liked this Twitter thread, you’ll love the book.

I made a ton of progress, but then my focus shifted to other things: hosting a pregnant mom, becoming a foster parent, ushering Secular Pro-Life into a new era with paid staff, etc. And wouldn’t you know it, I procrastinated so long that the landscape of the abortion debate looks completely different than when I started!

Much of the story takes place at the March for Life. What if January 2022 is the last March for Life with Roe intact? I’m a perfectionist; I’m dying to make all kinds of edits. But in the time that would take me, the story could cease to be current. This is, of course, a wonderful problem to have.

I have decided not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The time has come for me to release No Right to Be Here into the wild, warts and all.

You can download it for free at this link. If you like it, I hope you will show your appreciation by becoming a monthly donor to Secular Pro-Life. But that’s not a requirement; I want No Right to Be Here to be available to everyone, including those who identify as pro-choice. Enjoy!

As the national conversation on abortion intensifies, it’s more important than ever that we demonstrate that anyone can–and everyone should–oppose abortion. Thanks to you, we are working to change minds, transform our culture, and protect our prenatal children.
