September Recap – An Exciting Month!

This month was all about highlighting policies that protect the most vulnerable. Since the Democratic Party has disavowed the popular Hyde Amendment, Secular Pro-Life is reminding folks just how many children the amendment has saved: about 2.4 million people are alive today thanks to Hyde. Kelsey organized a virtual rally (“Out of Hyding“) emceed by Terrisa which gave attendees a picture of how important it is for us to protect Hyde.

This month Terrisa and Monica also spent time working with Colorado pro-life groups to promote Prop 115, which would ban elective late-term abortions in the state (donate here to help). Terrisa flew to Colorado this last week to lead a rally at the state capitol in support of this basic common ground legislation.

• Colorado allows abortion for any reason through all 9 months. Help us change that.: Monica gives us a full rundown on what a Yes on Proposition 115 in Colorado will do.
• Why We Need a Pro-Life Woman on the Supreme Court: Kelsey outlines the need for pro-life women across the country to be adequately represented on the court and how Coney Barrett’s potential elevation to the Supreme Court puts into question the pro-choice trope that women need abortion to have successful, high-pressure careers.
• Leading Opponent of Prenatal Non-Discrimination Law was a White Person Pretending to be Black: No wonder this was your favorite article of the month: nobody else has talked about it.  Kelsey points out the uniquely perverse situation of a woman pretending to be black while advocating to allow for abortions based on race.
