Be part of a viral video!

July 24, 2012/16 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Secular Pro-Life is working on a short video that will tackle the grand-daddy of all pro-abortion arguments: bodily autonomy.  Of course, there has been no shortage of discourse on this topic– most of it dry and unmemorable.  But nobody is going to say that about this video.

Why not?  Because our short video is going to feature two very special actresses.  The pro-choice stance, that you must be physically independent of other people to enjoy the right to life, is going to be addressed by a pair of conjoined twins!

We need your help to make this happen.  The costs of hiring the actresses, traveling to meet them for filming, and publicizing the video are likely to surpass $10,000.

Here’s what you can do:
1) Donate any amount through our fundraising page on YourFilmFund.com by the end of the month.  (YourFilmFund.com only funds projects with positive, life-affirming messages.  Your donation is tax-deductible.)
2) Join our facebook event and invite your pro-life friends.
3) Subscribe to our YouTube channel so you’ll be the first to know when the video is released!

Thank you for your support, and have a wonderful week!

P.S.– Watch this video message from SPL president Kelsey Hazzard, who has taken time out of her busy bar exam schedule to appeal for your help:

Hey look it's Kelsey, the Methodist!

Life begins at conception! I don't hate women I just think that they deserve to be thrown in prison if they don't live according to my values!

HEY WE NEED YOUR MONEY TO MAKE A PROPOGANDA FILM! WE'RE SECULAR, HONEST!

Punishment would be for doctors who perform abortions, not women who have abortions.

And of course, any doctor that performed pre-ban abortions, but stopped after the ban, would be immune from prosecution (if I had my way, anyway). As opposed to abortion as I am, I'm also opposed to ex post facto laws.

Just because you are a member of a certain church doesn't mean you can't be pro-life for secular reasons.
And yes, I do think people should be thrown in prison if they murder someone, don't you?

Troll's comments are singular and nonresponsive. They often don't even address the blog post.

I'm a liberal agnostic, and I agree with what the Secular Pro-Life movement is doing. Thanks.

how liberal can you claim to be if you're going to vote for romney because he claims to be anti-abortion?

If you vote for Romney because of his "anti-abortion" stance, you're nothing more than a Grade-A moron.

I am Christian, but I oppose abortion on secular grounds because I am also a Libertarian. I believe that government should not enforce religious laws. Taking the life of another person takes away their most basic right. That is why I oppose abortion. I believe homosexuality is sinful, but do not support laws against it, because outside of religious ideology, there is nothing inherently dangerous about it.

Why are you supporting Mitt Romney then? Mitt Romney is proven to be more pro-abortion than Obama. Don't listen to what he's saying now. During his term as governor of Massachussetts, he totally embraced pro-abortion policies. Furthermore, during his corporate raiding days at Bain Capital, Mitt Romney invested in a fetus disposal company. If you're really pro-life, you have every reason to not vote for Mitt Romney.

It's not fair to claim that Kelsey is a Methodist. The Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Congregationalists all took great strides in the 60s, 70s and 80s to end institutional discrimination this is probably why Kelsey decided that she didn't want to be a Methodist anymore. In all likelihood, she's a Catholic or a Southern Baptist.

If you've read this blog before trolling now, you'd know that Kelsey is no longer a member of any major church. She's closest to being an atheist if anything else.

      So, there's that.

Atheist/Agnostic here, and also a member of this organization as well as the Atheist and Agnostic Pro Life League, Feminists For Life, Pro-Life Gays and Lesbians (PLAGAL), and Liberals for life.

There are hundreds of thousands of non Christian/Consdervatives who are pro-life. Widen your focus anon.

That's strange I've never heard of these strange groups. Why does do they appear to be affiliated with the politcal objectives of the Republican Religious Right?

It's almost as if they're front organizations for the Republican Religious Right.

      Keep blaring that noise machine.

Anon, you've never heard of the groups yet you are sure they are aligned with the religious right.

You're hatred of Christians and Republicans is comical! I think that you are actually a pro-lifer working to make the pro-aborts look even more ridiculous than usual.

      The double troll agent!
