Many state and local pro-life groups are beginning their campaign to get out the pro-life vote by distributing literature in church parking lots. This is a legal and fairly common practice. I don’t doubt the pro-life leaders who have found it to be effective through years of experience. But as far as engaging all pro-life voters, including the non-Christian ones, it leaves a lot to be desired. How can we reach this audience, other than through general advertising (which carries the side effect of telling abortion advocates how not to vote)?
In the 23 states that offer
Choose Life license plates, it’s easy. Just go to your local mall parking lot and place literature on the windshields of cars with pro-life plates! Literature
is available through the National Right to Life Committee; unfortunately, since these handouts were made with churches in mind, they contain a Bible verse. I recommend using the information in the NRLC handouts and
other sources to create your own.
The states with pro-life license plates are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Virginia.
