For sale: notorious abortion facility

March 12, 2013 /1 Comment/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

A tip of the hat to Secular Pro-Life supporter Lynn Mills, who has tracked down this story. Recently, abortionist Reginald Sharpe closed down his Livonia abortion business after he began bankruptcy proceedings (possibly to avoid the medical malpractice claims that had been filed against him). Last night, Lynn informed me that the facility was for […]

Get up to speed on the Kermit Gosnell trial

March 11, 2013 /12 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

The jurors have been selected for the trial of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell. Pro-life potential jurors were dismissed out of fear that they would a) convict no matter what, and/or b) in the event of a conviction, refuse to vote for the death penalty.  The dismissal of pro-life jurors doesn’t trouble me too much. If […]

I won’t keep you in suspense. To everyone who participated: thank you so, so much! Secular Pro-Life may be a young organization, but thanks to our […]

The truth about North Carolina’s new sex ed legislation

March 1, 2013 /5 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

NARAL’s North Carolina affiliate is up in arms about “a shocking new legislative attack on reproductive rights.” The source of their fury? A proposal (SB 132) to add to the health curriculum in schools. If the measure passes, sex ed classes will include information about the link between abortion and preterm birth, which NARAL North Carolina […]

Two pro-life laws enacted in Arkansas

March 1, 2013 /4 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

In Arkansas, Governor Mike Beebe signed the Pregnant Woman’s Protection Act after it was passed unanimously in the state house and senate. The Act gives legal protection to pregnant women who use force to protect their unborn children. This legislation isn’t directly related to abortion, but it is a pro-life, pro-woman measure. As Americans United […]

Today is the last day of February, which means that our book sale fundraiser is about to come to a close. This is your last chance to purchase Cultivating Weeds and have the proceeds go to Secular Pro-Life! (After today, proceeds will benefit the author. A girl’s gotta eat.) Click here for the print version […]

A Pro-Life Example

February 27, 2013 /2 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Dr. C. Everett Koop, former Surgeon General of the United States, recently died at the age of 92. He lived a long, healthy life, fitting for a steward of a nation’s health. Pro-life groups have heaped praise on Dr. Koop, who was an outspoken supporter of the right to life. As a medical professional, he […]

Today’s abortion provider skeeviness

February 26, 2013 /2 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Yesterday, a coalition of pro-life groups launched a new petition site, StopCarhart.com. The petition signatures will be used “in support of the February 19 official complaint lodged by Operation Rescue against late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart,” in response to the deaths of Jennifer Morbelli and baby Madison on February 7th. The complaint asks for “immediate emergency […]
