Show us some love!

February 10, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Last year we asked you to “show us some love” to get to 5,000 likes. We met that goal and kept going strong. So this year, our goal is to reach 7,000 facebook likes. As of this writing, we’re less than 100 away! Please invite your friends to […]

Abortion supporters resort to lies in Title X grant battle

February 9, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

In keeping with the Debunker’s Handbook, let me start by stating the truth. The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, which was recently introduced in the Senate, will not reduce government funding for women’s heath care. Not by a single penny! The Act will merely affect how Title X funding is distributed to the health care […]

Expect More: Abortion Views, Expert Opinions and Why We Can Win Much Sooner Than You Think

February 4, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

[Today’s guest post is by Michael Crone and Philip Hamilton.] For far too long, pro-life politicians have wavered or shied away from life issues out of concern that bringing those issues to the forefront will cause them to lose votes. The pattern repeats itself with each election because as pro-life activists, we have been rather […]

The male-dominated abortion industry?

February 2, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Recently, a question was posed on our facebook page: are abortionists more likely than the general population of doctors to be male? Male abortionists in the news (such as Kermit Gosnell, pictured) may cause us to perceive the abortion industry as male-dominated. To answer this question, we look to two sources. First, the Kaiser Family […]

Pro-life community must rally in support of Rape Survivor Child Custody Act

January 30, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Kiessling holds a sign: “Conceived from rape. I love my life.” At the March for Life, I had the good fortune to bump into my friend Rebecca Kiessling. Kiessling, like me, is pro-life and an attorney. Kiessling, however, has a special area of advocacy: she is active in Save the 1, a pro-life organization for […]

Irony at the March for Life counter-protest

January 27, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

In 1979, at a sold-out concert of The Who with approximately 18,000 fans in attendance, the force of the crowd at the entrance caused 11 people to be crushed to death. In 2008, a crowd of around 2,000 Black Friday shoppers flooded into a Long Island Wal-Mart, fatally trampling 34-year-old employee Jdimytai Damour. At the […]

East coast recap

January 26, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Your president Kelsey Hazzard here. What a whirlwind week! I’m finally home and able to look back on SPL’s incredible advocacy for life on the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. On Thursday at 11:00 a.m., I gathered with some of SPL’s strongest supporters, both non-theist and theist, to announce Pro-Life Allies, a new coalition […]

Upcoming SPL media appearances

January 16, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Great news! 40 will have its network television debut on Wednesday, January 21, at 11:00 p.m. EST. That’s the night before the March for Life. 40, so called because it was produced in conjunction with the fortieth anniversary of Roe v. Wade in 2013, is a documentary film about the history and future of the […]

“At some point, all of humankind seems like kin”: A pro-life review of Undeniable by Bill Nye

January 14, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

I recently read Bill Nye’s Undeniable, on the subject of evolution. I read it purely because of my interest in the evolution versus creationism debate; I didn’t expect it to contain any commentary about abortion. Alas, it seems I can’t escape. Actually, to be precise, the abortion commentary began as a segment about opposition to […]

I am secular and #iSEETWO

January 13, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Focus on the Family is one of the most prominent religious right organizations in the United States. It is highly evangelical and has little in common with Secular Pro-Life. But I give credit where credit is due, and Focus on the Family has come up with a fantastic campaign: #iSEETWO. The concept is straightforward: “When […]
