Guy just offered us a $15k matching grant.

I recently wrote you celebrating SPL’s successful debunking content and asking for your help to bridge our year-end budget gap of $23,000.

Since then you’ve been sending a steady stream of donations, which is so encouraging. Thanks to you, we’re able to make secular arguments against abortion and connect all types of people to anti-abortion work. Our team already felt supported and happy.

Then two nights ago a long-term SPL supporter emailed me: “Do you need an end-of-year donation match offer?” Sir, yes, I do. So this gentleman said he would match up to $15,000 through end of 2024.

For those of you who like math, you may have noticed that if we match a $15,000 grant, that’s $30,000. Our budget gap is only $23,000. We could head into 2025 in the black! Are you kidding me?

For SPL, this is unprecedented. It’s also going to take many hands. In 2024, 96% of our donations have been $100 or less. This is fabulous as diversified, grassroots support. It also means we’re looking for the full team effort to hit that $15,000 mark.

If you can give, the time is now. Every dollar is worth two thanks to our matching grant maverick. As you figure out your year-end giving, consider an extra gift to SPL. Or if you were already planning on giving to us (sweet), consider a slightly larger gift to help us hit this target.
