June 14, 2023 in Biology, Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

The First 56 Days of You: How Your Human Journey Begins is children’s book written by Brooke Stanton and Christiane West, illustrated by Francesca Rosa, and published by Mascot Books. Why 56 days? Because that is the timeframe covered by the Carnegie Stages of human embryonic development. In this charming story, a school bus full […]

Ask a Pro-Life Atheist: Josh Born

June 2, 2023 in Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss, Philosophy, Religion, Uncategorized, Your Stories /by Kelsey Hazzard

Once a month or so, the Secular Pro-Life blog features a short interview with a pro-life atheist. (See the full series of interviews here.) Although Secular Pro-Life is not exclusively for atheists, historically atheists have played a key role in the organization. As atheists become more prominent in the pro-life movement generally, we’re excited for the opportunity […]

Imagine a World Beyond Abortion

May 24, 2023 in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Our friends at Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) have announced a call for art, with a submission deadline of June 9th. Unlike Rehumanize International’s annual Create | Encounter art contest, which accepts pieces on a wide range of human rights and social justice issues, PAAU has a very specific prompt: imagining a world beyond abortion. Check […]

Reflections of a Pro-Life Foster Parent

May 19, 2023 in Adoption & Foster Care, Uncategorized, Your Stories /by Kelsey Hazzard

I have had the honor of serving as a foster parent for the past two and a half years. During that time I have cared for twelve children: some just for weekend respite care, some for a few months, and two for well over a year. I currently have a house full of excellent teenage […]

A Peek Behind the Curtain of Planned Parenthood

May 5, 2023 in Research, Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Planned Parenthood released its 2022 annual report last week, and it has one heck of an opening line: “This was the year the worst happened.” I try to understand where pro-choice people are coming from. Many of them genuinely believe that abortion is a necessary evil, that women cannot succeed in male-dominated career fields without […]

Illinois Bill Threatens Pregnancy Resource Centers

May 3, 2023 in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Last week, pro-life advocates rallied outside the Illinois state capitol in opposition to Senate Bill 1909, a proposal to crack down on pregnancy resource centers (PRCs). Our very own vice president Terrisa Bukovinac, in her role as the leader of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, spoke at the rally and led the protestors in song. SB 1909 […]

May 1, 2023 in Later Abortion, Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Leroy Carhart, infamous as one of the few doctors in the United States to openly advertise abortions in the third trimester, died last week of natural causes. Unlike the unborn children he ruthlessly targeted, Carhart enjoyed a long life. He was 81 years old. Carhart was a champion of the partial-birth abortion method (euphemized by […]
