January 7, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

The theme of this year’s March for Life is “Every Life is a Gift.” This theme, as March for Life president Jeanne Monahan explained in an op-ed in The Hill, is meant to draw attention to unborn babies who have been diagnosed with a disability. The piece closed with an invitation “to more fully explore how […]

Nuggets from Planned Parenthood’s 2013-2014 annual report

January 5, 2015 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

The big story this week is the release of Planned Parenthood’s 2013-2014 annual report. Other pro-life news outlets have already hit the high points: compared to the last report, abortions are up, breast care services are down, and taxpayer funding remains incredibly high. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it’s a continuation of the same pattern […]

The year’s top stories

December 31, 2014 /0 Comments/in Top SPL Articles, Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Without further ado, the most-read stories on our blog in 2014 were… #10: Watch out for this disingenuous “pro-choice” tactic: The “pro-choice” movement no longer wants to be called that. Their next move? To ride on the coattails of genuine good causes by stealing the language of “economic security,” a “safe and healthy environment” for […]

Racism, reproductive justice, and the right to life

December 29, 2014 /0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

Indeed it shouldn’t. Nearly a month ago, Reuters published “Racism is also a reproductive rights issue” by Chloe Angyal. I just came across it recently, and feel that it’s important enough to merit a response despite the passage of time. The article is worth reading in its entirety, but the thesis is: Where black children […]
