“Did I make the right decision?”

March 19, 2025 in Uncategorized, Your Stories /by Monica Snyder

Note: Any time I talk about women suffering after abortion, people assume I’m arguing that their suffering is a reason to outlaw abortion. In fact this isn’t my point. I do think we should outlaw elective abortion–because it kills human beings. But even if we lived in a world where outlawing abortion was impossible, I […]

“TikTok docs” don’t know what they’re talking about

March 17, 2025 in Later Abortion, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

If you think the following explanations and responses are important, consider supporting our work. One of the most effective ways to do so is to become a monthly donor (check the box for “show my support by making this a monthly donation”). TikTok docs don’t always know what they’re talking about. Note when I say “TikTok doc” […]

Recap: SPL’s 2025 Trivia Night

March 14, 2025 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

On March 7, we hosted Secular Pro-Life’s 3rd annual trivia night outside St. Louis, Missouri. It was fantastic. SPL’s primary mission is to advance secular arguments against abortion. But our mission includes two additional parts: make space for non-traditional (especially non-religious) pro-life people, and build interfaith coalitions (people of any faith or no faith) to […]

Oregon Right to Life conference recap

March 7, 2025 in Administrative, Speeches, Discussions, Presentations, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Last weekend Oregon Right to Life (ORTL) invited me to open their Together We Advocate conference with Building Bridges, SPL’s keynote presentation that’s all about how to connect to people different from ourselves. Bridges aligns perfectly with two core parts of SPL’s mission: coalition building and creating space for non-traditional pro-lifers, and every single time I’ve presented it I’ve been […]

Response: “Bodily autonomy is widely respected in every other context”

Herb Geraghty is a pro-life atheist and former Executive Director of the renowned consistent life ethic organization Rehumanize International. Herb is a passionate advocate for the marginalized and vulnerable, and in no area has he contributed more than the defense of prenatal children. Herb’s history of activism is extensive, but he’s particularly known for civil […]

Hi All – Oregon Right to Life has graciously invited me to be a featured speaker at their March 1, 2025 conference “Together We Advocate.” In the morning I’ll give part of Building Bridges as a keynote presentation. Specifically I’ll be discussing how to build connections to moderate pro-choicers and non-traditional pro-lifers. In the afternoon, I’ll lead a workshop […]

Join us in Missouri on March 7: 3rd Annual Trivia Night!

February 6, 2025 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Hi all – I’d like to joyfully invite you to SPL’s 3rd Annual Trivia Night! Most pro-life fundraisers are formal, somewhat serious events, often with specific political and religious themes. We designed SPL’s trivia night differently. It’s nonpartisan, nonsectarian, casual, lighthearted, and entertaining. People have been resonating with it: we’re located in Missouri and last year […]
