Abortion isn’t just about ending a pregnancy; it’s about killing a fetus.

June 23, 2023 in Bodily Rights, Later Abortion, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Some pro-choice people claim that abortion is only about ending a pregnancy. The argument goes something like this: The fundamental premise of the pro-choice position is that no person has the right to use your body against your will. An embryo or fetus is using a woman’s body to survive – and not only using […]

It’s about the babies, not your sex life: 5 examples

June 16, 2023 in Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Pro-lifers are against abortion because abortion kills humans, and we think you should not do that. But there are people who don’t believe our real motivation is protecting babies. They think that’s just the stated motivation we use to cover up our more nefarious goals — usually having something to do with controlling people’s sex […]

Abortion advocate describes 9-month elective abortion as “personal healthcare decision”

June 15, 2023 in Abortion pills, Later Abortion, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

British outlets are extensively covering the case of Carla Foster, a woman sentenced to jail for illegally using abortion pills to abort her 32-34 week daughter. [Read more – Abortion provider sends woman abortion pills not realizing she’s 32-34 weeks pregnant] One pro-choice interviewer, Julia Hartley-Brewer, talked about the case with pro-abortion campaigner Janey Starling […]

Abortion provider sends woman abortion pills not realizing she’s 32-34 weeks pregnant

June 13, 2023 in Abortion pills, Later Abortion, Legislation, laws, & court cases, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

The BBC published “Mother jailed for taking abortion pills after legal limit,” neglecting to mention in the title just how far past the legal limit the mother was. In the UK it’s legal to induce an abortion at home via pills up to 10 weeks gestation, get an elective abortion in a clinic up to […]

Article laments baby boy born because of Dobbs

June 9, 2023 in They Can Hear You, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

On May 22, 2023, In These Times published “What It’s Like to Have an Abortion Denied by Dobbs,” which profiles Lationna and her newborn son, Kinglsey. I came across the article because of this tweet: The tweet already had a whole lot of quote tweets, many of them saying terrible things about Lationna herself, what […]

Meet Becca, Our Volunteer Coordinator

May 31, 2023 in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

Secular Pro-Life exists because of volunteers. In 2009, SPL began as a work of heart for our founder (Kelsey), myself, and a select few others. Today our organization benefits from the knowledge, time, and talents of dozens of volunteers, which is why, despite our shoestring budget, our content is viewed over a million times per […]

“After Tiller” features a non-medical 25 week abortion

May 12, 2023 in Later Abortion, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

The documentary “After Tiller” features interviews of only doctors willing to provide third trimester abortions following the assassination of Dr. George Tiller (who had also provided third trimester abortions). The film features multiple pregnancies involving fetal anomalies, but it also presents abortions of healthy fetuses for other reasons. For example, about an hour and five […]

Don’t tell people they can’t be pro-life.

May 10, 2023 in Pro-Life Demographics, Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

This post is primarily for conservative Christian pro-lifers. I consider myself fairly conservative, but SPL’s Board President is a moderate and our Board Vice President is a liberal. We get along great. And we try to run Secular Pro-Life in a very nonpartisan way. We do that because we want people to understand that anyone […]

Confronting counter protesters at the March on the Arch (St. Louis, MO)

May 5, 2023 in Uncategorized /by Monica Snyder

My 8-year-old daughter, Clara, has been asking me to take her to a pro-life “protest,” and the St. Louis-based event in beautiful spring weather was a great opportunity.  We joined several hundred pro-life marchers for what began as a very peaceful trek on a gorgeous day. I showed Clara how to keep an eye out […]
