Ohio surgeon accused of forcing abortion pills on sleeping girlfriend. A surgical resident at the University of Toledo began a romantic relationship with this unnamed woman after he and his wife separated. When the girlfriend told him she was pregnant, he said he wanted her to get an abortion. The allegation is that the surgeon used his ex-wife’s name to obtain abortion pills, and the girlfriend alleges that she woke up in the middle of the night to him holding her down and him putting his fingers in her mouth and forcing a crushed powder inside her bottom lip, inside her gums, etc. She tried to call 911, but she says he took her phone. She went to the hospital, and they told her that the medication had ended her pregnancy.
In November, the University of Toledo put him on administrative leave and suspended his medical license. Only after that, and almost a year after this incident happened, the police indicted him for abduction, tampering with evidence, disrupting public services, unlawful distribution of an abortion-inducing drug, identity fraud, and deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
