2025 Secular Pro-Life Annual Report
This report is also available as a printable PDF.
SPL has grown dramatically.
Secular Pro-Life was an all-volunteer organization from 2009 until 2021, when Monica Snyder joined as our first Executive Director.
Since then our staff has grown from one to five, and under Monica’s leadership, SPL has become a nationally recognized voice in the abortion debate.

As our team grows, so do our abilities.
This year, we welcomed Herb Geraghty, who amplifies SPL’s mission through activism and media outreach, and Liesl Bohan, who manages our vast library of social media content across every major platform.
We’re also training the next generation of secular pro-life advocates through our internship program. In 2025, intern Michelle Buenrostro spearheaded projects like our highly successful Sticky Summer monthly donor campaign.

Volunteers are the heart of our work.
SPL accomplishes extraordinary work on an ordinary budget thanks to our volunteers who believe in our mission. We give non-traditional pro-lifers space to do meaningful anti-abortion work, and in turn they give countless hours and exceptional talents, exponentially increasing our impact.

SPL is everywhere.
On college campuses.
We are uniquely poised to make the case for life where it’s needed most – in environments that are often overwhelmingly secular and hostile to the pro-life message.
Our meticulously cited presentations challenge bias and misinformation, encouraging critical thinking even among skeptical pro-choice audiences.

In the media.
This year, SPL activists were featured in articles from the New York Times, National Review, Reason Magazine, Politico, Newsweek, The Independent, Fox News, and more. Our authors published op-eds in Human Life Review and The Washington Examiner, bringing secular pro-life arguments to readers nationwide.
On the streets.
From national marches to local protests, we show up and embolden other non-traditional pro-lifers to speak up.
Our banners, signs, conversations, and collaborations remind everyone that opposition to abortion transcends religious and political differences.

We lead communication trainings.
With decades of experience changing minds about abortion online and in person, we now train others to do the same.
In 2025, we launched the Bridges Intensive, a full-day interactive training on usefully engaging pro-choicers. We co-hosted the Storytelling Symposium, teaching pro-life advocates to deliver impactful personal testimonies. We also began training pro-life politicians on how to respond to tough questions on the campaign trail.

We debunk pro-choice myths.
Through TikToks, articles, and our newly launched livestream series, we rapidly respond to current events and dispel pro-abortion misinformation with reason and evidence.
With our eye for skepticism and our love of citations, SPL provides analyses to set the record straight.

We improve reproductive grief support.
Secular Pro-Life is normalizing open conversations about miscarriage and pregnancy loss. This year we created space for women to share their stories, wrote a suggested protocol for hospitals on how to compassionately handle fetal remains for grieving families, and led a training for organizations that provide post-abortion healing on how to better serve secular women.

Social Media Report
Our social media presence grew more than ever this year, reaching millions of people with secular pro-life arguments.

Every day, we are engaging with pro-choice audiences and giving fellow pro-lifers the information they need to push back on pro-abortion media narratives.

Financial Report
Income & Expenses
In 2021, we received a generous grant that allowed us to hire our first staff member. We’ve drawn from that seed grant and your ongoing support to build our team. Since then, we’ve also learned a lot about fundraising. Now, for the first time we’ve hit a major milestone – we’re bringing in more income than we spend.

Monthly Donors
This success is thanks to each of you who support us in so many ways, but we want to especially thank our monthly donors. Expanding this program has been a major focus, because recurring gifts bring stability and predictability, allowing our staff to spend less time fundraising and more time creating the content and resources you rely on.

This is all possible because of you.
We love doing this work, and we’re grateful to you for making it possible.
Our team is proud of everything we’ve accomplished this year – and we’ve achieved it all with a lean, efficient, mostly part-time staff and limited resources. Just imagine what we could accomplish with an expanded operational budget, freeing us to commit to more projects, host more events, reach more people, and bring key staff on full-time.
With your support, we can make 2026 transformational.
