Pro-Life Coalition Demands Congressional Investigation for D.C. Abortion Victims
On March 25, 2022, PAAU activists Terrisa Bukovinac and Lauren Handy recovered the remains of 115 children who were killed by D.C. abortionist Cesare Santangelo. (Bukovinac is an atheist with deep connections to Secular Pro-Life.) Most of the victims were killed legally and received a prompt burial. But the five oldest victims — Harriet, Christopher X, Phoenix, Ángel, and Holly — wound up in the custody of the D.C. medical examiner:
Harriet has a gruesome injury on the back of her neck that is consistent with the illegal partial-birth abortion procedure, and some of the others may have been born alive. Unfortunately, D.C. politics are very pro-abortion; local officials refused to conduct autopsies or investigate further. They insinuated that Bukovinac and Handy were the real criminals. And earlier this year, they even threatened to destroy the evidence; thankfully, public pressure made them change course.
More than two years have passed, and justice delayed continues to be justice denied.
Secular Pro-Life has proudly joined a coalition of fifty organizations calling upon Congress to do what D.C. authorities will not: conduct a comprehensive, open investigation. In an open letter directed to House Judiciary Committee and Chairman Jim Jordan, we demand a hearing to expose Cesare Santangelo’s barbaric business.
