Changes are coming…

November 3, 2023/in Administrative, Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

For years, Facebook has been an ideal platform for charitable giving. It was easy to set up a recurring monthly donation, and Facebook even covered the processing fees. For many of our supporters, it was a simple “set it and forget it.”

But Facebook has announced that those days are over. As of Oct. 31st, they are no longer processing donations. If you have been using Facebook for your monthly recurring giving, SPL will not receive any further donations from your account. Facebook has been referring donors to PayPal, but existing monthly donations will not transfer automatically. And unfortunately, we will now have processing fees to contend with.

Many small non-profits are worried that this change will hurt fundraising, and Secular Pro-Life is no exception. This transition, however, has given us a chance to evaluate our giving platforms and select one we’re really excited about: Bloomerang. We are asking that all past Facebook donors consider signing up on this platform in order to continue their monthly giving.  We are working diligently to contact our donors to help make the switch, and would ask that all future donations go through Bloomerang whenever possible. Their processing fees are less than PayPal’s, ensuring that more of your donation goes directly to SPL’s work and not to auxiliary fees.

While we anticipate some growing pains, we’re hoping to make this transition a smooth one. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions as we roll out this new system.

And if you are not already a monthly donor, this is a perfect time to jump in! If you appreciate Secular Pro-Life, please sign up here to make a monthly recurring donation. Consistent monthly giving allows us to plan our budget and embark on new projects with confidence.

Thank you for your support!

It’s crucial that we demonstrate that anyone can–and everyone should–oppose abortion. Thanks to you, we are working to change minds, transform our culture, and protect our prenatal children. Every donation supports our ability to provide nonsectarian, nonpartisan arguments against abortion. Read more details here. Please donate today.
