History repeats itself

September 17, 2010/12 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Kelsey Hazzard

From LifeNews.com:

A man who had been verbally harassing pro-lifers outside a late-term abortion center in Albuquerque for days, escalated his abuse to violence yesterday by driving his large paneled delivery truck up on a curb and striking the large pro-life sign held by Bud Shaver.

Shaver was unhurt in the incident but his sign showing an image of an aborted baby was damaged.

Shaver jumped into a truck and was able to track down and obtain the license plate number of the vehicle that hit him. He reported the incident to the police.

“We just explained our concern [to the police] that this man is starting to escalate his behavior,” said Shaver. Police told Shaver that they would talk to the man, but it was unlikely that charges would be filed.

I hate to say it, anonymous angry abortion guy, but your stunt was completely unoriginal. More than twenty years ago, none other than George Tiller executed the same idea. Furthermore, Tiller had better aim: he actually hit the person, not just a sign. Your performance pales in comparison. I recommend finding yourself a new hobby. Since you’re obviously a complete sociopath, have you considered drowning puppies?

You know, even the evil pro-life propaganda site you linked to admits that the sadly-missed George Tiller was trying to drive his car into his clinic's parking lot through a mob of pro-life protesters: that the police on the spot at the time assessed the mob, not the doctor needing to reach his patients, as the threat to law and order: and that while the mob tried to stop Tiller getting in, he had at least 10 patients waiting for him – women for whom the mob outside were a threat to their health and wellbeing.

But you know. You're pro-lifers. You're naturally with the mob, and against women.

I've pointed out that Tiller did not exclusively provide life-saving abortions.

You've cited wild claims to that effect, Nulono. It's safe to traduce Doctor Tiller now a pro-lifer murdered him. Pro-life attempts to lie about Doctor Tiller's work always failed in court, because, well… they were lies. And as was said in another context, the witness stand is a lonely place to lie.

I notice even you aren't boldfaced enough to deny the issues about the mob trying to block a doctor from his clinic where patients were waiting for him.

Shall we talk about this pro-life activist who rammed his car into an health clinic and chopped at walls and windows with an axe before being subdued by the building's owner? Pro-lifers are such sweet people.

Or this pro-life activist who listened to the pro-life propaganda about how Planned Parenthood was "killing babies" and took his mother's boyfriend's SUV to smash it into the nearest Planned Parenthood clinic door? Then he got out and started yelling your kind of propaganda about "Close down the Auschwitz death camp". See, he didn't have your hypocritical understanding that claims about Planned Parenthood "killing babies" are lies no one really believes. He thought they were true. So he decided to act. With a car. Pro-life driving.

Or this pro-life activist who drove his car into the lobby of Edgerton Women's Care Center, doused the lobby with petrol, lit a match and walked away. Good pro-life activism, eh?

Or let's look at how pro-life activists Dotti Roberts, Curtis Beseda, and Sharon Codispoti attacked the Everett FWHC in Washington DC in 1983. Curtis Beseda at least (Roberts and Codispoti were not convicted) fire-bombed the clinic three times – eventually cancelling its insurance and forcing it to close, a victory by terrorism for the pro-life movement.

Even a pro-life judge had to admit there was a pattern of attacks. We know he was pro-life because refused to recuse himself because he said his pro-life views were religious in nature, so recusing himself would be like admitting a religious test.

Or how about pro-life activists Baca Sergio and Altman Chad who, in December 2007, torched Doctor Curtis Boyd's clinic because he performed abortions there? (There was another pro-life arson action at a clinic in Virginia Beach, Virginia, early in the year, but the activists who did it weren't caught.)

169 arson attacks by pro-lifers on health clinics since NAF started recording pro-life violence. Pro-lifers really have a thing about women getting healthcare.

The man who shot Tiller was an anti-government extremist who was not connected to the mainstream pro-life movement (aside from one post on a public bulletin board).

All of these acts of anti-abortion violence were roundly condemned by pro-lifers. Pro-choicers, on the other hand, continue to defend the 1.2 million yearly deaths from abortion.

The man who shot Tiller was an anti-government extremist who was not connected to the mainstream pro-life movement

but who was supported and praised for his murder by the pro-life movement, who still make clear he was part of their cause every time they claim that Doctor Tiller "killed babies".

All of these acts of anti-abortion violence were roundly condemned by pro-lifers

All of these acts of pro-life terrorism were instigated and supported by pro-lifers who claimed that those clinics "killed babies" – a melodramatic lie calculated to inflame people who were fool enough to take it literally.

Pro-choicers, on the other hand, continue to defend the 1.2 million yearly deaths from abortion.

Pro-choicers, on the other hand, actually work to reduce the abortion rate by providing real alternative options.

While pro-lifers simply commit acts of terrorism and murder, or harass and bully women at the safe end of the line.
