Secular Pro-Life’s 2026 Trivia Night Recap
Hey all –
On March 14th, we hosted Secular Pro-Life’s 5th annual Trivia Night fundraiser outside St. Louis, Missouri.
Many pro-life organizations fundraise by hosting formal plated galas, often with strong, somewhat somber Christian and politically conservative themes. Our aim is different. We designed SPL’s Trivia Night to be nonpartisan, nonsectarian, lighthearted, and entertaining.
This was the first time I got to attend, and I had a blast. It was great to connect with others who see the value in what we’re building at Secular Pro-Life and have fun… even if my team didn’t win this year.
As you know, Secular Pro-Life’s primary mission is to advance secular arguments against abortion. But our mission goes beyond that. We also work to make space for non-traditional pro-life people and to build coalitions across lines of faith and party politics.
Our trivia night is all about making space and building bridges. It’s also, of course, a fundraising event. And this year’s trivia night was a success on all of these fronts.
Between trivia rounds, mini games, and plenty of laughs, we saw supporters connect, build friendships, and strengthen the kind of coalitions our movement needs. It was an opportunity to have fun while supporting a cause we all care about.

Shout out to our sponsors
Thanks to the generosity of our organizational partners, this year we were able to cover the costs of the event itself so that every ticket, silent auction bid, and raffle ticket purchase could go toward funding and furthering our mission.
At Secular Pro-Life, we are all about building coalitions, and we are grateful to these organizations that value what we are bringing to the table to expand the entire movement’s credibility and reach.

Raising money & raising up pro-life activists
While Trivia Night was full of fun, the money we raised will also directly fuel our mission to build a more effective pro-life movement by advancing secular arguments and making space for all kinds of people to do pro-life work. This year, in conjunction with Trivia Night, we hosted a free pro-life training where attendees got to hear from Monica Snyder and me on how to best communicate your pro-life stance and how to find your niche and get involved in pro-life activism in your community.
Together, the training and fundraiser helped us make an impact and sustain the work behind it.

We ❤️ our volunteers
We could not have done this event without our loyal Secular Pro-Life volunteers.
Leading up to Trivia Night, our volunteer Siel coordinated the silent auction and Zoey baked three pies that we live auctioned off to get in the Pi Day spirit. Combined, they helped bring in a record-breaking $1400 for us. On the day of the event, we had volunteers help with set up and tear down, running registration, selling raffle tickets, bartending, and more. Several even traveled from multiple states away to stay in the “VolunteeRBO” and help run the event.
If you’re bummed you missed it, you can check out this silly TikTok trend we participated in to document the weekend and sign up to join our volunteer team here.

See you next year!
Despite my team’s second-place (first loser) finish, I had a great time and I’m already looking forward to Trivia Night 2027. I hope you can make it too!
Until then, consider becoming a donor to Secular Pro-Life to support our coalition-building work. Choose “make it monthly” to help keep us going throughout the year.
Thanks a lot,
Herb
BTW: If you (or a business you know) might be interested in helping us fill our silent auction table next year by donating goods or services as bid items, fill out this form, and we’ll be in contact!
