Attention Ohioans: TODAY is your voter registration deadline!
On August 8, Ohio will hold a special election for Issue 1. Today is the deadline to register to vote in that special election.
This is the official link to register to vote.
Although Issue 1 does not directly concern abortion, it could have a significant impact in the November election, when a pro-abortion measure will likely be on the ballot. Pro-life advocates are urging a YES vote on Issue 1.
Issue 1 would require at least 60% of voters to approve any amendment to Ohio’s state constitution, rather than a simple majority. Supermajority requirements for constitutional amendments are not unusual and can be found in both red and blue states.
The abortion industry knows that it will be difficult to convince 60% of voters to strip away the right to life — even with scare tactics, a biased media, and millions of dollars. In Michigan, where abortion supporters poured out-of-state money (including crypto fraud money) into a ballot measure that enshrined a “right” to kill babies in the womb, the disastrous measure passed with 55.7% of the vote. If that state had a supermajority requirement, the cause of life would have prevailed. A recent Gallup poll found that more than four in ten Americans embrace the “pro-life” label and say that abortion is morally wrong. The percentages opposing second-trimester (55%) and third-trimester (70%) abortions are even higher.
The abortion industry has spent several months gathering signatures for an extreme ballot measure that would eliminate gestational limits, safety regulations, and even parental notification for pregnant minors. They recently submitted their signatures, and although Created Equal has video evidence that some of those signatures were obtained fraudulently, we do not know how seriously election officials will investigate. We have to assume the worst.
By passing Issue 1 in August, pro-life Ohioans can increase the odds of a victory for life in November. Make sure your Ohio friends and family are educated and registered!
