1/31/10: What SecularProLife.org has in store
January 31, 2010
It's a slow news day, so let me take the opportunity to let our loyal readers know what's going on at SecularProLife.org.
1) In light of the overwhelming interest in sex education that is both comprehensive and pro-life, we are going to create it. A physician who saw our banner at the March for Life has graciously volunteered to contribute a segment on childbirth. We still need contributors to write about contraception, relationships, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, and other topics. If you've been meaning to get more involved, this is a great opportunity! Send me an email: info@secularprolife.org. Even if you don't have a medical/research background, we can still use your help with things like design, proofreading, and promotion.
2) Our current fundraising focus is to get the few hundred dollars needed to file for 501(c)(3) status. Having such status will make gifts to SecularProLife.org tax deductible, which attracts donors. It will also allow us to sign up for popular online fundraising tools like Facebook Causes. Please help us reach this goal if you are able.
3) Once this goal is met, we will begin fundraising for our next project: conducting a nationwide survey through a respected polling firm, in order to bolster our contention that most pro-lifers-- even those who are religious-- endorse secular reasons for being pro-life. This is an ambitious project, but I'm confident we can get it done by 2011.
4) We're still waiting on the audio file from my Pro-Life Unity Radio interview. It will be posted as soon as I have it.
5) The same goes for the video of me, Day Gardner, Carol Crossed, Jason Jones, and Kristen Day speaking on a panel at the Students for Life conference.
